As a child I learned violin and my musical and creative abilities led me to start composing music, including the soundtrack for plays performed at Sala Beckett, Teatre Lliure and Teatre Borràs, among others. Later, some of the directors of these plays also used me as an actress and musician in their productions.
I formed the V.O. Quartet in 2004 with the other three members, a string quartet which performed entirely original repertoire which we composed ourselves. We performed in many different venues in Catalonia and the rest of Spain, as well as at the Festival Isole Che Parlano in Sardinia and the Hebden Bridge Arts Festival and the Salisbury International Arts Festival in the UK. We also composed the music for Cuentos Cruentos, a musical which we also performed at the Teatre Gaudí in which I participated as violinist, actress and singer.
In Barcelona, I have studied singing with Ellen Gould and Muntsa Rius, violin with Ala Voronkova, theatre dance with Mercè Boronat and contemporary dance with Trinidad Garcia Espinosa. I have also studied physical theatre at LAMDA in London and taken courses at various theatre schools in Barcelona.
As an actress, I have performed in a short film by Cesc Gay, the feature film Grand Piano and some advertisements. Theatre venues I have performed in include the Teatre Lliure, Teatre Gaudí, Sala Fènix and the Grec Festival, among others.
Since 2011 I have been giving story-telling shows and presentations for students of English in secondary schools and EOIs around Catalonia as well as performing in libraries and theatres.
I studied Education at Durham University and have been an educator for more than 25 years. I currently teach undergraduates at the ESADE language center.
